Duke Technical Services is part of the Event Management, a division of Auxiliary Services and is primarily involved in the technical aspects of campus based event support, including audio-visual support for classes and department functions, providing sound reinforcment in Duke Chapel and setting up and maintaining the scoreboard and sound system in Cameron Indoor Stadium, home of Duke Basketball.
We work with several other University support departments with varying degrees of frequency. We also frequently work with other parts of Event Management. Special Events Services is involved in many of the events that we are, dealing with "the things that don't plug in" (tables, chairs, stages, etc.). Duke Recording Studio does audio and video production work, Theater Operations supports several theaters around campus, including Page Auditorium, Reynolds Theater, Baldwin Auditorium, Schaefer Theater, and the Griffith Film Theater, doing much the same thing in the theaters that we do around campus.
Although we do end up doing some classroom audiovisual support, most of classroom support for Trinity College classes is handled through Arts and Sciences.
Duke
Medical Center used to have has its own audio-visual support
organization. See
Educational
Media Services for alternatives.
The Fuqua
School of Business also has an multimedia support
dept.
