The Auxiliaries Finance Office (AFO) aims to facilitate the success of Auxiliary Services by developing and providing innovative and effective managerial, accounting and operational support. We serve all departments within Auxiliary Services, although the functions performed vary according to the needs of the each department.

There are several main areas within the AFO. Each one is responsible for providing accurate, meaningful and timely information to departmental managers.

• The Revenue group accounts for revenue received and distributes it to the appropriate Duke account codes.
• The Accounts Payable team processes invoices and ensures that vendors are promptly paid. It also oversees physical inventories.
• The Accounts Receivable section ensures the collection of outstanding charges from departments at Duke as well as organizations outside of the University community.
• The Plant Fund area monitors capital expenditures, tracks debt service and provides assistance with capital planning.

DIRECTIONS TO THE AFO

FROM RALEIGH-DURHAM INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT (AND RALEIGH)

To Park in Front of Duke Chapel (Reserved Parking)

• Take 1-40 West toward Durham.
• Take Exit 279-B, 147 North (called the Durham Expressway).
• Take Exit 14, Swift Avenue/Duke Univ.
• Turn left on Swift Avenue and go until the road ends (approx 0.5 miles).
• Turn right on Duke University Road.
• Turn right on Chapel Drive (1st right after the stoplight).
• Go one block.  
• Turn right onto the traffic circle.
• Take the 3nd right, to continue on Chapel Drive.
• West Union is on the left when facing the Chapel.
• The Auxiliaries Finance Office is one floor down, in Room 020.

To Park at the Bryan Center Parking Deck

• Take 1-40 West toward Durham.
• Take Exit 279-B, 147 North (called the Durham Expressway).
• Take Exit 14, Swift Avenue/Duke Univ.
• Turn left on Swift Avenue and go until the road ends (approx 0.5 miles).
• Turn right on Duke University Road. 
• Go approximately 0.7 miles and turn right on Towerview Drive.
• Go around traffic circle and continue on Towerview Drive.
• Turn right at the first stoplight onto Science Drive.
• Turn right at the Bryan Center/Duke Chapel sign.
• The entrance to the Parking Deck is on your right.
  • If parking in the open lot next to the deck, use the pay stations.
  • They accept currency, coin, or credit card.
• Proceeding on foot:
  • Take the sidewalk alongside Duke Chapel. The spires of the chapel are visible above the trees.
  • Go up the steps and to the front of the Chapel.
  • Take the sidewalk away from the Chapel (with the Chapel behind you).
  • Walk until the building on the right (West Union) ends.
  • After the end of the building, turn right on the sidewalk.
  • Turn right again, onto the first sidewalk, and enter the arched doorway.
  • Immediately open the door on the left and proceed down the stairs.
  • Turn left down the long hallway.
  • Room 020, Auxiliaries Finance Office, is the first door on the right.

   

FROM I-85 (AND POINTS NORTH)

To Park in Front of Duke Chapel (Reserved Parking)

• Take I-85 South.
• Take Exit 174-B, 15-501 South (this exit is to the left).
• Take Exit 107, NC 751.
• Turn left at bottom of ramp onto Cameron Blvd. (NC 751 South).
• Turn left on Duke University Road (third stoplight).
• Turn left on Chapel Drive.
• Go one block.  
• Turn right onto the traffic circle.
• Take the 3nd right, to continue on Chapel Drive.
• West Union is on the left when facing the Chapel.
• The Auxiliaries Finance Office is one floor down, in Room 020.

To Park at the Bryan Center Parking Deck

• Take I-85 South.
• Take Exit 174-B, 15-501 South (this exit is to the left).
• Take Exit 107, NC 751.
• Turn left at bottom of ramp onto Cameron Blvd. (NC 751 South).
• Turn left on Science Drive (second stoplight).
• Pass stoplight at Towerview Road.
• Turn right at the Bryan Center/Duke Chapel sign. 
• The entrance to the Parking Deck is on your right.

• Take Exit 270, 15-501/Chapel Hill Blvd.
• Turn left at end of ramp.
• After 2nd stoplight (at Garrett Road) get in the right lane.
• Take 15-501 Bypass.
• Take Exit 107, NC 751
• Turn right at bottom of ramp onto Cameron Blvd. (NC 751 South).
• Turn left on Science Drive (second stoplight)
• Pass stoplight at Towerview Road.
• Turn right at the Bryan Center/Duke Chapel sign.
